I am a Mexican living in NYC and your blog is so good it just made me want to start my own blog about my life in the big apple.

Picture number 30 of 43 on your Touribus gallery is a Monument called Hemiciclo a Juarez, a monument dedicated to Benito Juarez. Benito Juárez was the first full-blooded indigenous national to serve as President of Mexico. For resisting the French occupation, overthrowing the Empire, and restoring the Republic, as well as for his efforts to modernize the country, Juárez is often regarded as Mexico's greatest and most beloved leader.

Congrats on the blog.

Rolando.

PS. I am definitely doing the cantina-crawl in December. I'm from Monterrey so it's really been a while since I last visited Mexico City.

Ed, try the Yahoo groups MoreliaConnect and Michoacan_net. Those are the most organized online resources for people in Michoacan. I lived there for two years and may be able to point you to a resource or two. emilyandsergio@yahoo.com

I have had a blast reading your work since finding out about your blog several months ago. I read every post in the archives! What fun! I lived in México for several years, as a younger person, and continue to spend time there every year. Your observations resonate right on my heart/funny bone--without fail. Too bad you'll be leaving there someday. I would love to keep living there vicariously through you.

As an earlier Midwesterner in Mexico, I so wish you were there when I was there. At the time there was a lack of blogs about what I was going through. Anyway, I like to live vicariously through you now.

I would like to see your take on the many uses of pig skin - chicharon, cueritos and footballs. A post complete with your wonderful photos, of course!

I am always excited when you have a new post. Keep it up!
A friend in the Midwest,
Emily

Love the blog. My husband is from and currently living in Hidalgo (a great place for silver shopping...Real del Monte). I may be joining him in the near future in Pachuca or DF, so your insights of a Midwesterner in Mexico is very helpful in my preparation (I am originally from Oklahoma). Your observations are so hilarious and so very true!!! Keep up the great work!

WooHoo!!! Thanks for the shout out!!! And congrats on the 100 entries. I think I have read each of them. Very insightful and entertaining. I am moving to Cancun at the end of October, and while my experiences will be very different then yours in DF, I will continue to read, learn and laugh.

Jules - congrats on 100 posts! I have three questions/comments. How can this movie you describe possibly be worse than the Beverely Hills dog takes Mexico movie? How did I miss the post about naked mexican women with sombreros? And, you are going to be in the US for 10 days???? We need to discuss your upcoming trip to Boston (the one you are planning in early Nov)... you remember, right?!?
